Unprofessional counter people make this the most dreaded part of running my business. Goodness forbid you have more than one item that you need postage for, or any actual counter help with - I've literally had one desk lady loudly apologize to everyone behind me in line when I had 5 small packages to be shipped. Incredibly disappointing and unacceptable - it's no wonder USPS is failing.
