Not sure I can say it was the best dining experience I've had. We were greeted right away and the host was pleasant. The waiter took some time getting to us. It happened to be Seattle Restaurant week and we decided to have the set menu. When my soup arrived I took a spoonful and didn't realize how scolding hot it was and it burned my mouth and down my esophagus, not a good way to start. Adding to my disappointment the soup was pretty bland, I'm not one to add salt to anything but felt it needed it. For my main course, I had the risotto also served on an extremely hot plate (which I was not warned about). The presentation was boring three dull colored carrots sitting on top of a brown bed. For risotto it wasn't bad once it cooled down. For the desert portion they had two options and was a little disappointed to learn they really only had one option which was dairy based with no substitutions offered. Lastly, I did feel a little rushed as we wanted to have one more drink for the road with the waiter offering up the bill before asking if we'd like anything else. I might have rated Trellis lower however, I did like the layout of the restaurant and the host greeted us warmly.
Superb happy hour prices. Friendly bar staff. Nice for Kirland locals, too
