We purchase fencing and decking materials from Rick's Custom Fencing in 2005. The pressure treated posts started to fail in 2015 and now larger sections of the fence need to be completely rebuilt. Meanwhile, all of the pressure treated posts we purchased 3 years prior for a different section of fence are holding up just fine. Also, the Screws Rick's sold us for their composite decking all started to fail withing 2 years, breaking off where the decking meets the joist making it impossible to replace the screw in the same hole. To the say the least I was pretty unhappy.
After sending my complaints by email, their general Manager Nick came out to look at the problems with both the fence and the deck. After seeing it for himself, Nick told me that at the time we purchased both the fencing and decking, there had been some changes in federal law on the anti-rotting chemicals that could be used in both the pressure treated post and also the screws and that during this time, manufacturers were still trying to come up with new effective formulas, some more successful than others.
Rick's custom fencing agreed to deliver new post replace the rotting posts and also some new screws for the deck, and also offered some great time saving suggestions on repairing the fence. Rick's Custom Fencing stood behind their product 12 years after the fact and I am very grateful for there help.
