The lower trail starts at the mountain side of the campground on Bonaparte Lake. Ascend about 600 feet elevation for gorgeous view of the lake and nearby mountains. If you can't handle the hike, you can drive to the viewpoint on FR 100 off 33 near Lost Lake. Don't be surprised to find sacred Indian offerings here. Please respect this revered site.
