I sent a photo of a very old Native American Indian beaded dress to this company to have them give me an estimate of the value per their "free appraisal" offer on their website. I had sent in the photo of this item to another very respectable dealer of Native American artifacts and they emailed me back he next day that the beaded dress was Plains Indian circa 1900-1920s and worth a considerable amount of money.
I never heard back from Matt Wood's Antique American Indian Art so pretty much wrote them off. About a week later I get an email from Matt and he says that the beaded dress may not be authentic and is only worth between $50-$100. He basically insulted me because I did not want to sell the dress to him.
In the online form that I filled to submit my request for an appraisal from him, it ask if I would be interested in selling the item to them and I checked "No". I Matt gets ticked off and decides what the heck, I will just insult them if they don't want to sell the item to me.
Would advise anyone needing an honest, unbiased appraisal of a Native American artifact to avoid this company as Matt will just insult you if you don't want to sell.
