This is a favorite hiking trail for our family. It is not super long, but it is steep and there is a beautiful beach at the bottom. The old structures, various offshoots of trails, and varied landscape keep us coming back for more. We have had some nice photos here and enjoy the area. It is nice year-round but fall is particularly pretty due to many deciduous trees. You will want a "Discovery Pass" for this and most other trails in the area. The passes are available online, or while renewing your (Washington State) vehicle license tags. There is a small fee for one year of unlimited visits and you can use it on either of two vehicles identified on the pass. You can/will be cited if you or your vehicle are without the pass in the parking area during enforcement visits. We have noticed that it is a bad idea to assume the enforcement will not be working on Holidays. They do!
