I belonged to key bank since i was younger and didn't use to really use my bank that much. But about a year ago I recieved a a letter in the mail letting me know I was in the negative and how the account would be closed or send a collection agency after me. I knew something was wrong because I hadn't taken out any money for a long time. Come to find out I had been getting charged every period for over a year because I had less than 300$ in the account. My account slowly trickled fee after fee down to the negative from over 150$. No notice or anything until I had no money. Why wasn't I aware?.... because I signed something when I was like 6 or something saying when I turned 18 my account would automatically have these changes. They didn't take off most of the fees because they said they couldn't go back that far or some bull s#*$. I switched banks though and now much happier with my new bank and all of their features.
