Grand Coulee Dam

The staff was very helpful in explaining all aspects of the facilities including the design and construction history. Missed the Guided Tour by a few hours and I don't know when I will be back again.

This was my fifth visit to the Dam. I first went as a 10 year old child. With my family. It was glorious! I promised myself then, that I would come back. I have made four more visits as an adult. My former Husband and I took our 2 Son's when they were in elementary school, and again when they were older. He and I visited back in the early 90's and I was as awe struck as ever by this magnificent piece of man made wonder! The dam is HUGE! and supplies electricity to Washington, Oregon and even as far south as California! Located on the Columbia River, it is a Must See for all who either live in or are visiting, Washington. It is lit with hundreds of colored lights, each night. Music is piped out from the dam, and in sync with the lights. Creating a Brilliant and Beautiful Show.
