I've banked with the people at what used the be Yakima valley federal credit union for 20 years because I trusted them and I liked the way they treated me and my family. I opened my first account with them when I was just out of high school. Once it turned to Gesa the phone lines changed and I was no longer dealing with the same friendly voices I was used to. I got behind on my car payment last year by 45 days and truthfully I had forgot about it and was out of cell range for almost a month. As soon as I realized I was behind I called to make arrangements and I was informed the they had just sent the repo order so I made a $500 payment to cancel it and made arrangements to pay the rest. About a week later I received a call stating they were going to repo the car if I didn't pay a certain amount by a new designated time that was not in the arrangements made with them prior week. They also told me my motorcycle was connected to the loan and they were going to try to take that along with the other money I had just paid... My motorcycle and my Porsche are both worth a lot more than I owed the bank and they handled the situation like I was a computer and not a person. I felt the they smelled blood and were ready to for the kill. They were trying to make money by taking my vehicles even though I had payed the agreed amount and during all this the person who I trusted and got the loan from was not even allowed to negotiate for me by his new bosses. He is the reason I went to them place in the first place. So they pulled a common bait and switch type things and prey on people based on technicalities rather than act like they are dealing with human beings. When I call I don't recognize anyone anymore and the people I talk to are short and emotionless like robots. I don't think my calls even go to the actual bank I bank at and I want the family oriented small town treatment that they used to be not this cold unhappy feeling I get when I deal with the new phone people now. They used to be a lot faster and everything about banking with them was better in every way that I care about. They might not have had a super fancy building before but they were very real. This is the classic example of a large corporation taking over a trusted family type business and we the people suffering directly for it through cold emotionless dealings that go along with the large corporations. The reason I writing this is I just called to let them know a couple different loan payments are 10 days or so past due and I would be making them Monday well before any collection type thing needs to be done so not to worry at all.... So instead of saying thank you I'll make a note she tells me I talk to tells me to hold I need to talk to a collector..... Which is weird because I was calling the bank itself and barely behind....So after waiting 6 minutes and 30 seconds on hold the not so nice lady she gets back on the phone and tells me the collector would have to call me back... At this point I said listen I'm just politely informing you guys I will be paying well before anything needs to get done so if you. Could just pass that message on we will be good to go.. She proceeds to make it sound as if this is a big problem for her even though I'm the one that has been on hold for no reason at all and I eventually have to say thanks bye and hang up on her to finish the conversation after I force her to agree to pass on the message... I know crazy huh?
