I unfortunately saw David Bender 5/19/16 at Providence Everett Emergency Room. His bedside manner was poor and even though I spent 6 hours in the ER, my time with Bender felt extremely rushed an less than thorough. He interacted with me for a total of less than 5 minutes in a 6 hour visit. It was a Thursday morning/afternoon, and not very busy.
I went in for suspected kidney stones and despite it being common practice to start patients on fluids he did not order them for me and I had to beg for them.
After getting a CT scan and being told my 6/10 flank pain was not kidney stones, he discussed getting a UA sample and checking for bacteria but this was never done. I was too exhausted to remember to insist upon it. Now it has been 24 hrs since being seen and the pain is back and I'm sitting here wondering if I have a kidney infection. I will have to go to a walk in clinic tomorrow and get them to do the simple UA culture that Bender forgot to conduct.
Again, probably the most rushed "doctor" visit I have ever been part of. Zero compassion and empathy from this guy. It's obvious he is only in the medical field for a pay check.
