Will update review after our 9 month lease is up. Personal note: my 4yo daughter broke a lamp in the leasing office, they only cared about her safety and that she was okay. They then proceeded to provide my kids with stuffed animals and let us get some sodas. I dont see how people can complain about management when you've got kind people like that. If I were them, I'd add the lamp to the monthly bill. Condition: A lot of people complain about the age/condition of the apartments, however you must realize they can only update apartments people DO NOT LIVE IN. If they are constantly getting request and or have people on waiting list it's better business to just put people in them. I mean, come on people. be logical. They are a business, if you don't like it decline and live someplace else. Moving in: The management and maintenance both encouraged me to 'write down' as much as possible about flaws, broken bits, and what not. even told me to take pictures and document anything broken or out of the ordinary, even if i thought it was dumb. I've never had any apartment or post housing representative encourage this nor explain in detail extra bits. Obviously they care. We are currently living in one of the older modeled apartments and I think its fine. The only complaint would be the carpet is "old/used" maybe 3 years +. The fridge is an "older" model, along with the washer/dryer. HOWEVER. They work, they are in good condition for being "OLD". I'm content with what we have. Management: Thus far has been pretty cool, super helpful and very nice. I assume most people only talk to them when they have a problem. And like anything, if you go in with an attitude/bad mood, you're probably gonna come out with one. Maintenance: I've stopped to talk to several of the maintenance workers and they all seem pretty cool. I've only put in one work order and it was a stupid one I could of fixed on my own, but they did it quickly and without complaint. Parking: We bought a covered parking area (40$ per month). But we haven't used it yet. It is about 50ft away from the stairway to our apartment and there is frequently spots open... Management said parking is a pain, and most reviews complained about it too... But there are 4 spots frequently open right by our stairs.. So there's that. Area: I mean, its an apartment in lakewood WA. Honestly the location is really nice. Close to a lot of stuff (schools, churches, army post, stores, etc.) Location is awesome. especially if you have school age kids. Cleanliness and appearance: I'm a neat freak. This place is a bit "unorganized" and if owned it I would have teams of people doing landscaping and general area beautification. (my wife says it looks pretty here tho) The Park needs a Cover over it to prevent it from getting wet. I think more people would use it. It rains a lot in washington if you didnt know that. Cost/internet/bills: For a 2 bed 1 bath its about 1200, there are two internet providers who are already hard wired. Comcast has a hotspot here you can use while you wait for installing it. You pay W/S/G and parking if you buy it, can be done all online. Trash: I'm sure they could do with another dumpster or something, the compactor I hear gets pretty full... But I've yet to see it. Maybe people should recycle more... Not sure. Noise: The fridge makes a funny sound. We are ground floor and can hear the upstairs stomping/water running. We've always lived ground floor apartments and its no different. School: (elementary) The bus stop is like 250 meters away from the front. But the school is like 2-3 blocks away... I encourage you to just walk your kid to school. Will update with photos later.
